After relenting to my wife, I have began reading Seraphina by Rachel Hartman. Her debut novel, I am ashamed to admit, is actually quiet good. I grudgingly recommend this to any young adult that likes dragons and fantasy novels.
The last week or so has been slow. I had midterms last week that took up much of my time from studying. Samantha also hurt her knee at work last week so I have been helping her out a lot. I made Kirby and Ms Pacman at work. As I have said, there hasn't been anything new or exciting lately, just living life.
I had a very good talk with my dad yesterday. With him and my mom spending time away from each other, he has been very sad lately. We probably had the best conversation with each other in years. Both of my parents are in my thoughts constantly. I am hoping for the best.
Samantha and I moved into an awesome house this weekend! It is twice the size as our old house and much, much nicer. We are looking forward to spending a long time here. More on this in later posts.
In other news, I finished reading an excellent book called The Clockwork Three by Matthew Kirby. This book falls into the steam punk genre which I am fond of right now. It is also a 2012-2013 Mark Twain Award Nominee. I recommend this book for middle school children and adults.
Even though my life is busy and stressful, it keeps going on like clockwork. I know it will get easier soon. Here is to getting through rough and stressful patches. Cheers!

The last few weeks have been stressful. My mother had surgery for breast cancer, graduate school started, and Samantha and I still haven't found a new home to move into yet even though we have until September 15 before our lease is up. Hopefully things will settle down in the next few weeks and life can go back to normal.
I am in the middle of reading The Legend of Nightfall by Mickey Zucker Reichert. An older fantasy published in 1994, Nightfall is an assassin that finds himself protecting the son of a king. For being such an obscure book, it is not bad at all. Look it up and read it if you ever get a chance. Cheers!
Yesterday, my wife and I finished a project; we created a puzzle of super heroes. It was super cheap too. All we bought was a one dollar puzzle from the Dollar General store and some mod podge from Hobby Lobby. For the super hero pictures, I used discarded comic books at the library I work at. Below is a picture of the completed project. I plan on using this as a craft for the teens I interact with at the library. What do you think?
It feels good finding out you have made an impact on other people's lives.
Years ago while donating plasma, I randomly called out the spot on my arm where the needle punctured the skin my "money hole." (In case you didn't know, you receive money when you donate plasma) Then today, an old friend and an employee of Biolife told me that to this day, other patrons use the aforementioned reference due in no small part because of me; it caught on like wildfire when other patrons heard me mention the phrase jokingly to the phlebotomist that day.
Always be yourself; you never know who might notice.

Samantha and I went to Kansas City between July 22 - July 24 for our 2nd anniversary. We visited Worlds of Fun, the Kansas City Zoo, the Blue Nile Cafe, and the world's largest shuttlecock. We both had a blast! Here our some pictures of our trip.
